Here are a few high-fidelity screens from the project:
iThenticate
iThenticate is a plagiarism detection software widely utilized in academic and research domains to ensure the authenticity of scholarly work by comparing submitted documents against a comprehensive database of sources. My involvement in v2 included enhancing existing features and introducing new ones, elevating its capability to safeguard scholarly work with precision and efficiency.
Migrating from V1 to V2 - For the migration from V1 to V2, our team focused on user-friendly scheduling. We ensured clarity by providing users with a clear view of scheduled migrations, the option to reschedule, and real-time updates on migration progress. Clear error messages were also implemented to guide users seamlessly through the process.
User Journey
The current view of the sources in v1 the user has to click on the card to see the full URL.
New Designs
User Testing - I had the opportunity to conduct user testing with stakeholders to showcase my designs and evaluate their effectiveness in addressing pain points. This feedback helped refine the final product.
URL ungrouping - In iThenticate v2, we tackled a critical user pain point by revolutionizing how similarity sources were presented, ensuring swift access to full URLs. Despite resource constraints and the need for design re-use from Turnitin's TFS, we crafted a tailored solution, optimizing the interface for iThenticate users, thus significantly enhancing their verification process and overall experience.
Once the card is clicked, users can view the sub-URLs from the main site.
iThenticate users can view full URLs instead of only main URLs, as seen in TFS.
The user clicks on the card and it expands.
